When do you first judge someone?

As I write in this blog and offer insight and perspective into my thoughts about the world around us you likely make assertions about who I am, what I stand for, or how I view things.

This is a positive and negative to someone like me. It is positive because you may gather that I am someone that looks deeper than the surface to better understand the world in which we live. It can be a negative because you only get a glimpse of the depth of my studies. Therefore you cannot possibly make an informed decision about who I am by simply reading blog posts about the world.

Let’s be clear about a few things.

  • My agenda is knowledge and critical thinking. If I can make you look further, I have accomplished my goals with this website.
  • I am a philosopher, and as such I ask tough questions and look for possible answers. However, I do not assume there is a simple solution to anything.
  • Most complex problems have complex solutions that one blog post cannot rectify. Again you are pointed to my goal of critical thought/analysis.
  • Do not confuse me with someone who is conservative, liberal, socialist, communist, or otherwise. I am an independent thinker whose primary concern is thinking forward.

Moving forward in this world we need to be thinkers. We need to understand where we are going and how we are going to get there. This means that as individuals we must think for ourselves rather than letting others think for us.

As you read my blog, remember, I am simply asking you to think, be aware, and seek knowledge.
